Tour the Peconic Bay on GLORY the Only Quiet and Environmentally-Friendly Vessel in New York
GLORY is the perfect cruising vessel for Peconic Bay. It is unique in that it is the only cruise boat in New York that produces zero emissions, is virtually quiet, and leaves nothing that is harmful to the environment. It is New York’s only “Green” Electric-powered harbor tour boat certificated by the United States Coast Guard.
This means that Glory- a reproduction of a 30-foot ELCO- is not only friendly to the environment, it is also subject to annual safety inspections by the United States Coast Guard. When passed, these inspections allow the vessel to carry 14 passengers with the approval of the United States Coast Guard. The Captain holds a 200-ton Master Mariners Merchant Marine License and has been operating vessels for more than 30 years as master. For over 20 years GLORY has safely carried thousands of passengers in Peconic Bay leaving them all with a greater appreciation of the advantages of electric non-polluting power.
Sailing for 45 minute cruises, from Memorial Day through the end of October, GLORY has a choice of four destinations in Peconic Bay. All the destinations are weather and traffic dependent, and passengers should remember that no one trip is better than another. All the destinations are quite unique and offer the passengers pleasure and enjoyment. Also, despite what some may have heard-as the top speed of GLORY is about six knots-going to Bermuda on the 45 minute cruise is quite out of the question.

Did You Know?
GLORY is inspected annually by the USCG. All fire fighting equipment is checked as well as bilge pumps steering gear, hoses, medical kit, flares and life jackets. The Coast Guard holds a very high standard for vessels that it inspects carrying passengers for hire. Not all tour boats have a Coast Guard inspection. It takes more effort and expense on the part of owners to meet the high standards that the Coast Guard requires. What it guarantees though is that the vessel and the captain are subjected to rigorous scrutiny to insure that everything is operating to the highest standard. A Coast Guard certificate to is the gold standard amongst vessels carrying passengers.
